The basics of a sustainable approach for drugs policy in Switzerland
Social acceleration, the unlimited availability of a wide variety of products, new communication habits: the social realities are changing and bring new challenges, also for the drugs policy.
Against this background the Federal Office for Public Health in 2008 commissioned a steering committee consisting of the chairpersons and members of the three Federal commissions on alcohol issues, on drug issues and on tobacco issues - to draw up a mission statement for the future challenges in dependence policies.
The mission statement presents possible approaches for reacting to these changing realities and to new forms of dependencies and how the previous sectoral and substance-orientated measures can be integrated into an overall perspective of dependence policy.
